To become a Project Kindness volunteer, all new volunteers are required to attend an hour long training session.

The Lunch Prep

In order to become a Project Kindness Volunteer and visit patients at Weiler Hospital, you must attend this training session. Dr. Nadine Katz will be leading the mandatory training session on August 20th, 2014 at 12:45 pm. The students who attend our lunch prep will be provided with an overview of Project Kindness and program expectations.

How it Works

After you attend the Lunch Prep, we will add you to our system and become an active volunteer. Through this system, you can             and set up your own schedule. You can check your hours and choose whatever times are available for you.

*Only the first training session, led by Dr. Nadine Katz, is mandatory. There are no set amount hours you must commit to volunteering.

We do not want to add on to any stress you may have or push you beyond your limits. If you know that you can take an hour out of your day, please sign up and have some fun. Do something meaningful.

The time slots will be set, but the time will range from 15- 20 minutes per patient depending on the circumstances. Some visits will be longer while others shorter. Use your judgment to know when it's best to end the conversation. Depending on your schedule you can visit two to three patients during your time at the hospital. You can visit the hospital from 12 to 9pm.

You will also be receiving an ice breaker card with some tips to ensure you'll be a fantastic visitor and the experience will be a pleasant one for all parties involved. Excited to see some patients? Go ahead and

Your Voices

Overall I think the experience was great and I truly feel he appreciated the visit, I know I did.

My experience on Tuesday night was everything I expected and more; the patient was more than willing to share details of his life and stories with me and I really enjoyed the social atmosphere of the visit. I will definitely be back for more as soon as possible because I feel that these visits will be instrumental in my maturation as a physician and, more importantly, as a person.

"My experience with Project Kindness has allowed me to connect with patients on a deeper level."
