Project Kindness volunteers will be going to
Check out reasons why to join us
Project Kindness is a collaborative effort between Einstein and Montefiore.
Our base of Medical and MD-PhD students will become “citizen volunteers” and visit patients at hospitals nearby. The main goal is to help students build critical communication and interpersonal skills and, at the same time, improve the quality of life of nearby hospital patients.
The volunteers who participate in Project Kindness learn to become more
-
Sensitive to the needs of people
-
Empathetic towards others
-
Responsible for following through on commitments
-
Respectful and confidential
-
Better listeners
-
Aware of changes in moods and behavior in people
-
Accepting of differences in those they visit
Finally, it never hurts to be included in the Medical Student Performance Evaluation (MSPE). The Office of Student Affairs feels strongly about this volunteer effort to the point they agreed to include your participation in your MSPE. MSPE are prepared during your 3rd year and are completed for all students. MSPEs are included with your residency applications.
